I know this has been discussed many times, but, I just wanted to sum up what I think is the conclusion.
1) This tank will fit under my RPS with my 3 inch lift blocks?
2) Should I be concerned about the effects of Ethanol on tank?
3) With my 3 inch lift blocks, will the fuel fill be accesable?
My 1991 17 Montauk has a 1995 Mariner 90 HP motor on it and the 2 6 galllon portables were a good idea at first but have become a PITA cause this motor is a bit thirsty. I figure if I install the 26 galllon I can always still use jerry jugs to avoid the gas dock. Thoughts?
Sorry is this topic is redundant.

I have the 26 Gallon under my RPS without Lift Blocks; however, I need to unstrap the tank and move it back to fill it. Hope that helps.

Thanks for reinforcing me. Where is the cheapest place to buy the tank?

Does anyone know if this tank will fit under the RPS on a 2005 170 Montauk?

Saw it on Amazon for $189 with Free Shipping, appears to be out of Stock, but I would imagine it would be in soon.

Compare prices at either Cabela's or Overtons.

This will fit under the RPS of a 170 but you will need to slide it a bit to fill. A member or two have modified the seat to add a inspection port to fill the tank so they don''t have to move the tank.

After much procrastination, I purchased the moeller 26 gallon tank from boatbandit.com. Great deal and it was at my house in 2 days. My boat still has the original rubber mats in place and this tank fits perfectily in that spot. My rps is raised with 3 inch spacers whic leaves plenty of room on top. No problem with the fuel fill or seeing the gauge.
Does anyone have any pics of the best way to tie down this tank. I do have the original SS ring on the stern side of the tank that I think was from the original tank, but Im not clear on where a bungee cord would hook in the front side. I didnt want to drill into the floor if possible. I spent the last 2 seasons using 2 6 gallon portables and I am looking forward to the piece of mind the 26 is going to give me.
Pics to come if I can figure out how to post them.

I had one under my 1984 Montauk. No problems fitting it under the seat. I set the tank back far enough to clear the gas cap.
