I just purchased my first Whaler, a 2003 Outrage 290 - The dream boat of my life!
My family and 6 grandkids are so excited. I need some help if anyone in Whaler Central can point me in the right direction. The boat has twin '03 Merc 225 4 strokes. I need an owners manual for the Whaler, mostly so I can figure out how to operate everything and understand the instruments, the power panel, etc. I would also like to locate an owners manual for the engines. The generator does not work, but everything else seems wonderful. We are so happy to finally have the best built boat in America. Thanks to anyone who can help us. Barry Mohr bmohr@comcast.net

Hi Barry and welcome aboard WhalerCentral.
As new as your Whaler is, you should be able to get an owners manual from a Boston Whaler dealer. You should also be able to order an owners manual for your engines from your local Mercury dealer.
I'm like you, I like to have the manuals.
Let us know what you find out.

Thank you Joe. I did try the Whaler dealer and he said they are no longer available since they don't make this boat any longer - and he had no idea where to go. I also am trying to locate instructions on how to operate the electronics - this boat has Furuno NAVnet - both GPS/Fish Finder and radar units. The VHF radio is from Standard Horizon Spectrum.

Barry,
Not all dealers are equal. This goes for car dealers, boat dealers, etc.... Some dealers are too busy to help you with small stuff.. I'm not saying this is the case with your dealer but I would try a Master Boston Whaler dealer like Twin Cities Marine. Talk to Sue Lodel

As far as your electronics, I would first look them up on the Internet.
Furuno
Standard Horizon
Most companies like this have websites and have some type of support and documents for their equipment. Many times you can download an operators manual in .pdf format for free. If not, you can probably order the manual directly from the company.
Give that a try.

Thanks again Joe. Two of my grandson's have their fishing poles at hand and are anxious to catch their first "big ones" so I am trying to get up to speed as quick as possible. Yesterday was the maiden voyage and when I turned on the Furuno fish finder they saw all the lines below the surface. I told them it was fish, but for all I know it was probably seaweed. I will take your advice and check those sources.
Thanks again, Barry
