Hello All,

This is my first post.

Before buying a boat (haven’t had one for a while, but loved our little 14’ center console bay boat), I’d like to rent the models that I am thinking about or take some on the water lessons at a school to regain confidence.

In my case, a montauk 150 or 170 is probably what I would need.

Do you happen to know of a place to rent either of these or have some on the water instruction with either of these models being available.

I am in the NYC area. Most convenient locations would be:
Long Island, New York

Florida

But also places in Connecticut, Maryland (Annapolis), Punta Cana, DR, and Aruba could also be fun.

Thank you in advance for any thoughts.
My best,
TJ

I have a couple of suggestions.

Florida Chapmans school. www.chapmans.org. They are a hands on on on the water school.

Florida or New York Sea School. The local Sea School in my area has Captains that will teach on the water boat handling.

Contact Sea Tow or Tow Boat, they have Captains who might be willing to teach on the water training.

Another website is uspowerboating.com I went to there site and they teach a course in North Carolina using 19' and 21' Montauks.

Thank you Wrangler.

Great ideas, including Chapman's.

I am thinking of renting a small 13' sport for a few hours with a friend, and progressing from there.

It has been a while but I know this will come back to me.

Your suggestions are very much appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to help me out with some great ideas.
