Greetings,
I thought I would take a moment to post my thoughts on the re-power of my Boston Whaler Outrage 28. After identifying the max horsepower allowed for my hull (600 hp), I removed the perfectly running but shabby looking Mercury 225hp Optimax's from my boat, and replaced them with twin Evinrude Etec G2 300's with four bladed props. I would have never believed that my fully loaded boat, and I mean loaded up, would push me back in the seat when grabbing a handful of throttle. I get 1.4 mpg at 4100 rpm and 35 mph. WOT is 46mph. It is something hanging onto my big sled going that fast. It is a whole new ball game......Just thought I would share........ http://s1116.photobucket.com/user/apo...5.jpg.html
Very nice! Glad you're happy with the performance. I'm actually surprised your top speed isn't quite a bit faster, but I guess the 4-blades are optimized for power, not speed.
What happened to scrape up the motor cowlings like that? I assume that's being replaced by the dealer?
And I have to ask - that's not your trailer being held together by the cheapo polypropylene rope, is it?
