Big Foot 60 hp 2007
I flushed the engine and treated the fuel for winter storage. Then I saw where the spark plugs are. How do I remove the spark plugs so I can spray some fogger in the 4 cylinders? Is there a You Tube tutorial I can reference?

2 stroke?
Run the engine at idle with the air intake off and spray the fogger in till the engine stalls.
Thanks, Duane |

I should have mentioned that the Bigfoot 6o hp is a 4-stroke and fuel-injected. And my engine has very low hours - around 30 hours.

Check your manual, you may have a fogging port on the engine.
Thanks, Duane |

You just remove each plug, squirt some fogging oil in the cylinder, and reinstall. You then kick the motor over a couple of times with the starter to distribute the oil in the cylinder.
Randy, no offense but if your level of mechanical experience is that you have never removed a spark plug before, you may want to find someone to show you how to do this. It's not tough, but there are some things you can screw up - best way to avoid that is to have a buddy walk you through it.
Note that you'll also want to change the engine and lower unit oil - get the same friend to help with those too!

The problem is restricted wrench access to the spark plugs - something (coils?) are obstructing convenient access to the spark plugs. If there's somebody out there who has removed spark plugs on a Bigfoot then I'd like to hear how it's done. I have all the tools and skills I just don't want to start taking parts off the engine if I don't need to.

I will winterize the cylinders with a one-quart mix of mid-grade gasoline, fuel stabilizer (Sta-bil) and 10% of the quart will be 2-cycle oil. This is what I will do this year, until I can learn how to remove the spark plugs of the 2007 Mercury Bigfoot 60hp . You Tube videos that I have referenced have not yet provided the information I need.

I just ordered a manual which covers the Bigfoot (among other EFI Mercs)from the Seloc publishing company so I'm hoping that I can learn how to remove the spark plugs from the manual.
