1981 Montauk 17 broken bolt on Johnson 90 v4 trim/tilt

Member Posts: 15 Comments: 0 Joined: 07/14/16	Hi guys, I broke the head off a bolt while trying to replace the trim/tilt motor on my 1981 Johnson 90 V4, model number J90TLCIM. I feel kinda dumb, because I looked at the wrong paragraph in the shop manual and didn't even need to loosen that screw. I don't see the broken piece here, http://shop2.evinrude.com/Index.aspx?...p;siteid=1 -- so I'm wondering if there's a specific part number for it so I can order a replacement. It looks like it runs through the bracket and then supports the port side TnT piston. I eased out the other side a bit and noticed that most of it is not threaded. A pic of the broken bolt is attached. I guess I'll have to drill it out and re-tap the hole, but since it's currently all the way in, I'm wondering if it would be easier to see if it vibrates loose a bit and go at it with pliers. Member Posts: 168 Comments: 0 Joined: 06/16/14	It looks to me like item 83 on the "Exhaust Housing" page. 0321737. If it is frozen enough to twist off, it probably is not going to vibrate loose.
