I just bought a 1999 dauntless 15 with a 2011 evinrude etec 75 on it. I took it out on a nice calm day just 2 of us and was only getting up to 5000 rpm and going 29 mph. I read the manual and it said it should be doing 5500 rpm and other people with the same set up were getting up to 42 mph. I was wondering what propeller is best to get out the full power of the outboard. Any info helps thanks
As blaster posted, verify what prop is currently in use by looking for markings either on the hubs exterior (between the blades) or in some cases the prop needs to be removed as some manufactures stamp the back of the hub.
Your Etec is an awesome motor but your definitely low with your WOT (wide-open-throttle) rpm at 5000. You definitely need to determine what prop are you currently spinning.
