Is it a mechanic or sales rep who sells another brand? Is it a boater who just repowered with another brand? Honestly, there is so much misinformation around, it is astounding. All manufacturer's offer great 70 and 90 hp motors. With modern fuel-injected motors, you really aren't saving gas in going with a smaller motor - you can always just back off the throttle and get the same economy. Therefore, in your situation I would go with the eTec 90 or even the 90HO. If you don't want to go quite as fast, or be quite as versatile, go with a 70. Tim

Having a service department you trust and is close to you can really make a difference in case of any type of engine problem whether self inflicted or manufacturer defect.
