I have a 135 mercury offshore 2 stroke motor. On my way back to the dock my trim just stopped working, both up and down. I never had a problem with the trim. Any suggestions?
Sounds like an open circuit between the battery and the trim motor. First thing I would check is the fuse or circuit breaker. Another, slightly less likely, possibility is a loose or corroded connection anywhere in the circuit. If the fuse is not open check every connection in the circuit starting with the ground wire. Bad grounding is a very common electrical problem, particularly on boats. Don't fail to check the power to and thru the switch in the binnacle control.
