I had a camping trailer outfit put my hitch receiver on. It is not centered, off by less than 1/2 inch. It is also not exactly perpendicular to the centerline of the car. It is really close to correct, but it is not correct. And I keep thinking of what it will be like to take it back and argue for my quarter-inch or 3/8 of an inch ... Like pissing off the fast food drive through personnel ... you don't want to do that ...

If you are a perfectionist, its better to let them know that before you let them touch anything. I was so deliberate in my intentions, that the builder and the rigger, that of the bolts with logos, or the phillips head screws on my boat are all exactly the same, and I bet Ive got 200 screws, etc. see photo links. You are not the only one!
james, i agree wholeheartedly, if i bought this new..i wouldve had them make it right..i bought the boat 6 years old and never saw the flaw til after a bout 2 years..there is no room for error installing such technical equipment as far as im concerned..we know how important it is to use the right people doing work for us..back in 95, i used a boatyard on the cape ..cape cod..to repower a lake boat that i still am using..5 star work..very professional..if i were to repower, that would be the shop i would use agin..i bought this boat from a huge agency, bigger is not always better, however, they treated me like gold..so i have no complaints..they negotiated well and really cleaned up the rig nicely..i may loosen the engine mounts to see if theres any play to work with..will see, but im not in the mood to redrill the transom..it performs well
thanks for your replies and your interest, bob
