When I restored my BW 13 footer Super Sport, I put on a Telflex NFS and I love it.

Teleflex SS13211 NFB Safe-T II Marine Rotary Steering Kit; it was about 200 dollars out the door.

Thanks for that, my concern is if there is enough console to handle the NFB system, the super sport console is much larger...........anyone deal with this.......

The Teleflex NFB will work with a classic sport 13 console. When I rebuilt mine, I was able to get the steering mechanism as well as a blue sea star 6 fuse block to fit within the console albeit a little snug. Measure as carfull as you can, but sometimes a cable can be tricky to length correctly. I cant remember, but I think that I bought a 9 foot and turned out I needed a 8 foot steering cable. The prices online are cheaper than say West marine, but West marine will match pricing for any boat supplier website other than amazon or Ebay and will let you return the system should it not be the right length.

It helps if you follow the guidelines at the top of this page and tell us the year of your boat.
It enables us to help you better rather then having us guess.

The transoms may be a factor in adding a Teleflex steering or not depending on the year.

See this members installation, especially under the console.
(and without using a standoff depending on your transom)

Sorry about that''on not posting the Year of the 13 Sport, I am new to this site. It is a 1990. Thanks again for all that gave info on the Telefax steering. Now when I take the Whaler to the Engine installer, I will have some knowledge. Having a new Etech 30 HP installed. thanks again.
