Please see my personal page for photo.

I have a feeling based on the photo of my 1992 Johnson 120 while running that it is too low. It is raised up one hole. Should I see the Cav Plate ? It is clearly not showing in photo.

You should go up at least one more hole, maybe even 2. Go 1 at a time.

Be aware you will gain 150 rpm's at WOT for each hole you raise the motor so you might be at or exceed WOT rpm's.
