Purchased a 1995 Rage 14 with 115hp OMC turbo jet. No manuals. Did the first timers no-no , started the boat in too shallow of water and sucked sand into the filter. Went about 15 minutes at slow/no wake speed and then the motor started to lug down and shut off. Major overheating. No warning horn sounded. Removed the filter and cleaned it. Engine turns over by hand with compression pops in each cylinder. Blower and bilge pump run but the initial horn sound when you turn the key on is not there. Is there a reset for a thermal overload - is there a fuse/breaker that needs to be reset? No idea where to start other than to spend dollars I don't have to get it running again. Any suggestions are most appreciated.
