I have twin Yamaha 250 HP OX66 2-stroke engines on a 28' conquest. does anyone have experience with props that will allow the boat to plane at lower speeds and get the best fuel milage possible. top end speed is not my concern.

Ed -

If this is the same question you posted about a 295 Conquest "over there", you already have your answer.

While there is no rule about posting on multiple sites, it is not (in my personal opinion) a good practice. Even with the "shotgun approach" philosophy.

I don't know what you learned on the other site, but my recommendation would be a set of Mercury Revolution 4's. They are specifically designed for large heavy boats with big power, with lots of needed hull lift. I ran a set on my Outrage 25 for several years, and they are excellent 4 bladed props - the best you can buy in 4 blades, period. Low speed planing was excellent. Mine would plane all day long at 2200 RPM and 22 MPH using 21" pitch. Not all gearcases can handle these big props, but the Yamaha 250 should be substantial enough to do it.

Yamaha engines are widely used with Mercury props. I see it all the time.

I agree.

Discussions on one site should stay on that site.

Like Las Vegas. What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas.

Lets keep it that way.

I have the same motors on 1989 Whaler 27. After getting advice from Silentpardner I called propgods and talked to Ken. He also suggested Rev 4's 17 pitch. If you want to stay with 3 blades he suggested Mercury Mirage Plus in 17 pitch.
