1997 Dauntless 13 with Etec 40?

Member Posts: 29 Comments: 1 Joined: 09/25/12	Hi, Kicking around the idea of replacing my 40 hp Merc ELPTO with a new Etec. I found a dealer selling a closeout 40 hp Etec in my area for $4500. This motor will also come with the 7 year warranty promotion that is going on now. Rigging/Install will cost another $1600. My question is, will that make the boat too transom-heavy? The current Mercury is 177 lbs. The Etec is 240 lbs. I also have a 55 lbs kicker that I would like to hang back there but haven't gotten a bracket yet. Thanks.
