guys/gals,

check out the photo i've added to my personal page. if memory serves me correctly, I think someone told me that the front contraption was a bow pulpit? Is that right?

I've since removed the anchor mate due to popular demand, lol, but i was wondering if the bow pulpit was an original item, and what is it's purpose?

personally i just think it looks cool and will be even better when i refinish the teak.

tks

It was never an option nor was it original to any Montauk.

It is a Bow Pulpit but someone added it and they did a nice job.
The purpose was to keep an anchor up there instead of bringing it onboard everytime.

Joe : Last winter I had the pleasure of re-building my 22 revenge glass pulpit. I recall finding online detail plans of a Teak pulpit. I just checked the link was http://users.sisqtel.net/jkriz/drawin...pulpit.jpg I'm assuming it is yours.

Tim,

The drawings for the pulpit were from LHG. I did build a teak pulpit for mine before I got those drawings and it turned out great and works just right.

I chose not to add the pulpit railiing for several reasons.
