Hi All,
I'm working on an old Merc 500. I bought kits (Sierra) for replacing the impeller and for rebuilding the fuel pump. I don't have a manual or diagram. I disassembled, and replaced the used parts with new parts (gaskets mostly). But I have extra, unused parts (gaskets) left over from these kits. Is this normal?
I've never rebuilt a fuel pump or carborator but been watching lots of youtube video's of certified mechanics walking you through these procedures.
The ones I have watched, rebuilt kits came with at least 2 sets of gaskets that were for slightly different assemblies.
They used the ones that matched the old ones and had left overs.
