hello out their,
my grandfather has recently giving me a 78' montauk ( at lest that's what the title says)it is set up like the striper. the old whaler has sat in the blistering sun of AZ until my grand dad gave it to me. all the wood needs to be replaced. that is ware i have some questions that i am having a hard time trying to find info, this whaler has a wooden side console. i am hope that i can get old whaler back to it's prime self again. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the exact same year and model for 15 years.

It sounds like you have some other model. Look through some of the other photos in the personal page section here:

and the Whaler Model/Year index section here:

See if you can identify your model from any of the above photos in those links.
You should be able to just replace all the wood and then your boat will be restored.

thanks for the pics, but the boat that i have looks nothing like that. i have a solid wooden console, their are two single seats and the front of the console has a bench seat. and a their is a electric motor on the bow and a 6hp trolling motor on the aft along with the 90hp main motor. thanks for the help.

I would look through all the photos in the Photo Galleries.
Or, post a photo of your boat so we can tell you what it is...

i will get a pic of it this weekend and post it, don't have a lot of time during the week i am in the navy. i will get a photo posted this week.
