Currently these engines have 19p propellers. The seller had these engines mounted on a 31 ft boat and he says that reached 5500 rpm. So I think my boat is much smaller so I think to mount propellers 23p or 25p. thanks to everyone for the interest.

The most HP I've personally seen are on 25' Guardians with twin 175 Suzuki 4 strokes and twin 200 Yamaha HPDI and each had 19P props. Heck, switching props is the aboslute easiest performance mod to try so go for it. The worst that can happen is that you spend 20 minutes switching to a different set of props.

Member Personal Page Posts: 4280 Comments: 7 Joined: 09/30/05	I still wonder which 1990 Yamaha two stroke 250s are being used. HPDI, OX66, carb'ed? Did Yamaha even offer a 250 back in 1990? If the motors are OX66 models, the redline is 5500 RPM and has a 1.81:1 gear ratio. This boat should easily exceed 60 MPH so you'll need at least 23" pitch props. I suggest you use a pair of 14-5/8" x 23" Mercury Revolution 4s. Assuming the motors are spaced at 29-3/4" o.c., mount the motor on the transom two holes up. HOWEVER, did they make the 250 in a 20" shaft length? I don't think so, so you need to either extend the transom height by 5" or come up with a bracket to raise the motors to the proper height. Do NOT think you can just bolt them on as high as they can go and be OK. They wont.

I recommend The Rev 4 because I have personal experience with it on large Whalers including my own 25 footer. It seems to be especially well matched to high horsepower outboard motors offering exceptional grip and good top seed as well.

Member Posts: 1926 Comments: 16 Joined: 05/02/08	I think 500 HP on a cut transom Outrage 25 is a *LOT* of HP for a 3300# boat, 200 over the limit. Based on my own experience with this hull, and twin Merc 200 EFI's, I have found the Revolution-4's to be WAY TOO MUCH prop for the hull once you are running over 50-55MPH. These props have so much stern lift, and overall hull lift at high RPM's that, in my case, the hull is riding on only a small portion of the transom Vee. There is literally no side spray off the hull at all, only spray going straight back off the transom like you see with a 60 MPH bass boat. With these props, even a hull this size gets squirrelly. You could kill yourself with a set-up like that easily. And with 500 HP, no way. In my case, because of this lift, the Rev-4's were a lot faster than the Mirage props, but at considerable peril. For low RPM cruising, mid-range cruising and greatly improved ride, however, they are fantastic. The boat would cruise all day long at 2200 RPM and 25 MPH. I also believe fuel use with the Rev-4's is slightly higher. I now have mine up for sale, and will be switching to Enertias. For the time being I am running a set of 23" Laser II's dating from 1989, which are not really bad in the higher pitch, but have weaker mid-range cruise. The Rev-4's in twin application, are for a much heavier boat, like a 280 or 320 Outrage with big Verado power. For a big single on a 25 Outrage, it could be the perfect prop. The Mirage Plus 23's sound like a good prop for the boat in question. Jackplates will be mandatory to get them up high enough, since counter rotating 250's don't come in 20" length except from Mercury racing division.
