Does anyone know of a source for a Yamaha 703 side control box? The control box I need has a 10 pin connector and is the "pull to open" kind. My motor is a 1996 25 hp Yamaha 2-stroke. (It will go on my 1973 13' Sport restoration project.) I have been checking eBay without success and need another source. A used control box is preferred but a new one would be okay too.
Any help would be appreciated.

Bob,

I use www.boats.net all the time for Yamaha parts. They're a great source for finding hard to get parts.

Try http://www.yamahaoutboardparts.com/forum2/ and ask the moderator which box you need. Have your serial number handy. They have the parts available there. The box I *might* be needing is $185 vs. the $400 the dealer wants for it.

I would try the the Yamaha forum (you will have join, its free) or ebay. I have seen many of these over the years. I had one a few years back from a 25 HP that I sold on ebay...

Try craigslist. My mechanic also uses this company. http://www.hardcoremarine.com/index-old.html
