I showed my wife the thread and now she's worried all the accolades will elevate my ego to a level "impossible to live with" as she so aptly explained. Then she remembered how shallow the male ego actually is, reminded me of this fact, pop goes the ego. Just another day in the life of a not-so-famous author. Yes, I still have The Whaler. Actually, my first date with my wife was on The Whaler, I proposed to my wife on the bow of The Whaler off of White's Landing (Catalina Island), my bachelor party was on The Whaler, we spent part of our wedding day on The Whaler and now my oldest son's (6 1/2) favorite thing to do is jump aboard "Sunshine" and head to Catalina Island - 26 miles across the sea. Thanks again for the wonderful thoughts and for purchasing the book. It makes my day to learn people are enjoying the read. John

Had a lot of fun sold a bunch of books, there were over 100 people at the event. The biggest laugh seemed to come when I told them about Pat Carmody who was in photo that graces the cover of the book but ended up edtied (photoshoped) onto Liberty Island.
