I followed Joe`s instructions, and tried to upload a standard avatar, still no luck probably stupidity on my part. By the way Spongebob, you have the coolest avatar on the site.

Rich thanks for the compliment. This is how I did it:
1. Uploaded avatar from list.
2. Once avatar was uploaded I highlighted it or selected it, right clicked and copied it.
3. Opened "My Pictures" from Windows and pasted it there.
4. Then I went to Edit Profile on WC and clicked on Browse beside the avatar space.
5. "My pictures" then came up in a window and I selected the avatar I had just placed there and copied and pasted it
into the avatar address bar in Edit Profile.
6. Then clicked Update Profile at the bottom of the page and the avatar appeared in my profile and in the threads.

Binkie - Glad you got it figured out but I could not tell what you were driving. Try this on for size:
1 - Right click on this photo.

2 - Select Save Image As and save it to a location on your hard drive.
3 - Click Edit Profile on Whaler Central.
4 - Check the delete Avatar box and hit Update Profile.
5 - Now hit browse and locate the image you saved in step 2.
6 - Hit Update Profile and you are in business.

Bink -
Go ahead and take Rob's photo. He massaged it better than I did and it is the right size and dimension.
If you get stuck again, email me and I can do that same voodoo that I did last night (if I can remember ) for you.
Thanks Rob.

I sent binkie almost the exact same image that Rob did yesterday around noon.
Apparently binkie doesn't check his email.

Okay, I decided to do EXACTLY what Rob mentioned above to change my Avatar and I lost my Avatar again. Now my profile will not let me upload a new one. Joe....I must be retarded!

CES,
That is because the avatar you are showing is NOT the correct size.
This is not the one you had before... Try finding the one you had in your signature which was the right size.

Your photo is too large, dimension wise. The limit is 100x100. Your photo is 145x97. Sent you a PM to help you fix this.

There is a size limit AND a dimension limit. While the size is fine, the dimension is too large. I know....it is confusing.

Trimmed it down to 98 x 65 pixels to meet the 100 x 100 pixel limit. No joy.

Joe, I never got your e-mail, though I want to thank you for sending it. I also want to thank Rob for resizing the photo, and Phil for making it into my avatar. You guys really work magic, and are way over my head on this.

binkie,
If you didn't get my email then what is your email?
I used the one in your profile. If this isn't correct, please let me know so we can fix it. Your profile must contain your current email so we can get ahold of you when necessary.

Cliff - Try one of these out for size:
1 - Select the image you like and right click on it.

2 - Select Save Image As and save it to a location on your hard drive.
3 - Click Edit Profile on the right side bar of Whaler Central.
4 - Check the delete Avatar box and hit Update Profile at the bottom of the page.
5 - On your Edit Profile page browse for the image you saved in step 2.
6 - Hit Update profile again when you have found it and you are done.
