Dave,
You need to do the following
Go to the folder where your photo's are stored.
Select Tools from the menu, then select folder option.
If it gives you warnings about bad things, just say ok
When you get the folder options menu up, click on the tab that says 'view'. If you scroll down, you will see a check box for "Hide extensions for known file types". You want to uncheck the box. Then click the apply button. You should now see all the file extensions, this will allow you to change both the name and the extension
I'm guessing that checked is the default setting? So maybe we should include that little gem for Windows users in the renaming instructions section of the posting tutorial as it's key to making sure the picture extension is lower case .jpg?
Joe, thank you for that, it worked. The pictures downloaded off to the right of the last image I previously had posted, is this normal and can they be rearrainged so you only have to scroll straight down to view all images. Just a question, I'm not nit pickin, thanks again
Dave,
it is the default of Windows. Bill works hard to save you from yourself. Joe is always free to add my stuff to the posting tutorial. I can supply screen shots if that helps.
