Ok - that makes sense - thanks for the clarification. :-)
Yes, I like old cars just like I like old boats. Currently I have a 1960 MGA & a 1980 Porsche SC. Lots of stuff to fix and keep running.

OK Wayne,
Go for it, anxious to hear your results. My off work passion is collecting and restoring antique outboards, a tinckerers dream come true!

fitz - I have an off topic question that you, as an antique outboard guy, may be able to help... I've got an old motor that came along with a row boat I picked up a couple of years back. I have no clue about the motor and thought that you might have some info. I posted some more photos on my personal page.
Thanks,
Wayne

I'm going to go with an older Clinton or an Eska early 60's

Thanks for the reminder - it did say Eska on it before it faded. Does it have any value or should I drop it off for scrap?
Thanks,
Wayne

Not collectible by enthusiast standards but great to give to a kid who wants to fix it up and go putt around a pond if you knew anyone. I hate to see any outboard go to the scrapper but its worth more in weight than the market is willing to pay.

Thanks! I too hate things like this going into the scrap pile - that one reason I kept it. Now it just in the way.

Completed - hmmm - are they ever. ;-) Running yes.
For now I've disconnected the wires on the low oil switch and am keeping an eye on the oil - not too much of a problem since my boat only carries 12 gallons of gas.
Now that I know how replace the oil hose, I will put that on my list. For now I want to enjoy the boat and I need the motor for that and I have a long honey do list that fills my days.
Thanks again for you help and follow up.
Wayne
