I did find the rivets holding the fish box eye ts corroded through.
And another source of evident water intrusion point of entry.
Upon prepping the box for resurfacing;
I just tapped the part with a small ball peen hammer; Both rivets were so far gone that they broke with the first careful blow.
This will show to be an important point of repair for all these older models.
