Now the leg extension portion of the seat/platform has been added. Also, ss hinges are now installed holding the leg extension to the seat and the seat to the back. Note that the leg extension piece is shorter that the seat and the back because (in the seat position) the leg extension must clear the bottom 1x4s on the side rails.

Note that in the downward position the leg extension serves to "hide" what ever one decides to put underneath the seat.
