Hi All: I have recently bought a 1983 17' Montauk and am new to Whaler Central. Have been enjoying reading your renovation stories.
Would sure appreciate your help sourcing covers. I am looking for 3 covers. A console/cooler cover, a seat cover and a complete boat cover.
I have found Westland boat covers which look great for a custom fit full boat cover but they don't make console or seat covers. I've looked at Mills Canvas but their only making Sunbrella covers has put their pricing too high for this recent retiree.
Are there any exact fit console covers made of some of the newer lower cost materials now available?

We had a local canvas man make our covers, including the motor, at a reasonable rate. The point we'd like to make here is that it's worth the investment up front to use sunbrella, along w/a high quality UV resistant thread, as it will last. Other materials fade fast and deteriorate quickly so you end up replacing a lot sooner, and will do as we did the 2nd time, and go for the sunbrella. The center console is a one-piece w/a velcro slit for the crook.

I just bought the new Cabella cover fitted for a 17' Montauk w/rails and it fit perfectly, including my bimini being folded to the stern.

Look at our personal page for pictures.

Chris and Dale: I hear your logic on the sunbrella but also note your full cover is not sunbrella. Your full cover looks like the one made by Westland in either their Cloudburst or Sharkskin material which is warranted for 3 and 5 years respectively.
I am looking for that company that makes an exact fit console cover out of this type of material.
I note on the Cabella site they make 2 model #'s. IK-017453 and IK-018916. Which one did you buy?
Thanks for your help
