I need to restore the teak on my rps (previous owner used cetol and I want to have a traditional oil finish).

How would I go about removing the seat back?

You need to remove the teak pivot blocks on each side of the RPS. These hold the pivot rods in place. There are 4 bolts on each side that hold the pivot blocks.

You might need to remove the rod holders first to gain access to the nuts for the pivot blocks. There are 2 screws at the bottom of the rod holders so you need a long screwdriver to remove the rod holders.

You could unscrew the swivel boards that the 2 tubular frames are set into. They are on each side of the RPS. Once you unscrew them you can rotate the tubular frame pieces (2) out of the way and simply lift the RPS off the the RPS bottom cushion.

It is a 1 on a scale of 1-10 in difficulty
