Well, it has been a tough week for me. My dog, Yogi, ate another rock, and is again in surgery today to remove it from her small intestine. Coupled with my ignoble profession, and the market's realization that in America there will never again be a sold automobile, airline ticket, or home, I have been pretty much in the dumps.
The water's healing elixirs worked wonders today. We motored everywhere, from Manasquan south to Tices Shoal, near Barnegat Lighthouse.
Any locals should recognize the Railroad Bridge; please note yet another 17 foot Whaler hull waiting for the bridge to lift.

From there it was south past Bayhead and Mantoloking on the ICW.

Tices Shoal is a wonderfully clean boating destination, whose inviting crystal clear waters invite boaters to raft up, relax, read books, and walk to the shore, and across the narrow island to Island Beach State Park. IBSP is the beach the way nature intended, complete with dunes, clean waters, and a lack of homes and development.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and story. I understand how you feel. This country has paralized itself. I for one vowed to do more than normal and not let it slow me down. I have more boating hours this year than I have in many years. We have been on vacation this week and the boat(s) has been out every day. I put 65 miles on the deckboat yesterday alone pulling the kneeboard around on the river...... Good times!

Nice pictures, Life does not look so bad when looking at these...:p
One must wonder about few things, The gas crisis originated over 30 years ago, and what has changed since then.... Millions of people buying new homes with no money down at artificially low rates for years... How did that happen?
Could the government be have been acting like a lumbering fools with heads in the sand all this time? Maybe, but things could be worst... Being cancer survivor and counselor I know it can..Thats how I keep my perspective.
I have faith that things will turn around, may have a a different look and feel, and our behavior may change in the end. The US will again a emerge from this as a strong world player. Good thing it's an election year!
Looking at you pictures sure makes me smile...:D
BTW did you notice the sunk clam boat just out side the Manasquan inlet? Was big deal last week. A drunken captain slammed a 65 ft fishing boat into the rocks at the end of the inlet with 1500 gal of fuel in the tank, at midnight. Sunk to the bottom, now he has problems...:o
