Need to add fluid to my 40hp 1989 Johnson mounted on my 1988 13' Super Sport. I think the place to add is hidden between the tilt mechanism and the left engine mount. Can anybody tell me how to get to the filler plug?

I guess my Johnson is unique since no one else has apparently tangled with this problem. The BRP site parts diagram confirmed my suspicion that the fill plug was on the side of the tilt resevoir, blocked by the motor mount, and not easily accessible. I figured that the way to reach it was to remove the pin mounting the bottom of the tilt to the motor mounts, allowing the tilt mechanism to swing out and be filled. I painfully found that no tool, or combination of tools, that I own would let me get that pin out. I ended up taking the easy way out and cutting an access hole in the motor mount. It's now quite easy to fill the tilt fluid. I can't even imagine how this fill was originally supposed to be done (remove the pin, swing out the tilt, fill, swing in the tilt, replace the pin, run the tilt, then repeat the process until it was really topped off??)
