Anyone running with a Doel-Fin or alike ? Just wondering what benefits were found. I experience no porpoising, alot of bouncing and plane at a very low speed. My mind goes towards the addition of one only to control a new found spray at low speeds caused by the engine being way up high on a jackplate, the spray is dangerously close to my fuel tank vents. I fought all last summer with water that entered via vent caused be a transducer, this is resolved and I kinda like having 2 functioning fuel tanks.

I had a problem with the bow riding up high at very low speed and when I put the fin on it completely took care of it.

With a large Stingray hydrofoil fin, my 13' whaler gets on plane at between 8-11 mph depending on sea conditions. And, it does it very smoothly and stays on plane even as I come down from higher speeds. Not so without the foil. I think the benefits are greater because the Honda 45 4 stroke is heavy, also the kicker. I don't worry about top speed because the boat is overpowered anyway.
Hope this helps.
