I doubt you'll get a new 90 Etec anywhere close to 5500, cheapest I found one was about 7800.00 without controls and rigging. I believe the Merc 90's now come with a 3 year factory warranty as well. Unless you do a ton of boating, you'll be hard pressed to justify going to the DFI motors for the fuel savings. There are other perks to them though like better cold start manners, noise reduction and smoothness. IMO there isn't a much better all around motor for a smaller Whaler then the 90 Merc 2 stroke.
