Mine runs over 40 mph with a 70 HP Johnson, and it can chine walk at that speed. I would not even consider putting a larger engine on it. BTW, if you are boarded by the coast guard with a larger engine than the data plate specifies, I believe you are in for a ticket, and possibly prosecution for careless/reckless operations. Don't know this for a fact, but I would consider it before putting the engine on.
