Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: 1970 Nauset 16' - adding a stern bench seat

Recently purchased a restored 1970 Nauset. The person who restored it has installed the original mahogany seating - forward facing bench, pilot seat and rear facing bench (adjoined to the pilot seat - see picture).

My question - would there be space enough to add the stern bench (as the Eastport has) without creating interference between the stern bench and the rear facing bench already installed?

Download the drawing for the "Stern Seat for Eastport" and use a cardboard pattern to see how much room it takes up.

Took the measurements and I have about 38" from the RPS to the stern. Assume that the thwart bench structure will be about 15" deep, that leaves just enough (about two feet) between the RPS and the thwart bench. Thanks for the link.
