Are the specialty marine stainless steel fixtures (lifting eyes/bow light) worth purchasing? My original chrome over brass are hammered. The local chrome guy says get replacement vs have them re-chromed. anyone tried the SM stainless stuff? Ive kinda read that they might not be great but my chrome-ware is in bad shape. Thanks.

What do you mean by "hammered". There are a lot of chrome guys so you may want to shop around. Has the chrome guy actually seen the hardware?

Find another chrome guy.

SM has been disappointing customers for years.
