Hi all,

Hoping to get some general information on the old 21 Outrage model, specifically the ribside.

Curious how the handling is both at speed in calm seas, or on a slower cruise in 1-2 foot seas. I understand that it rides rough given how flat the hull is but just wondering if any owners have reports of top end speed and overall ride quality?

How is the boats static trim with new power if anyone has done it? With a 200hp four stroke in the 500+lbs range does it sit heavy in the stern or have other issues?

Any pictures of how the fuel tanks are held or what the back sort of enclosed transom looks like up close from the deck side? I have seen a bunch of ribside pictures but they never seem to show what that setup looks like.

My quick backstory is that I am pretty familiar with Whalers but have never been on an older Outrage. I grew up as a kid with a new 1987 22 Outrage that I still have, I also have a restored 1985 Montauk that I bought in 2022 for my kids.

I am now thinking of a new project and have always liked the look of a Ribside and wondering exactly what the shortcomings are for that model and if it is worth the headache for a 50 year old boat?

Thanks!
Steve
