I have read old posts until my eyes have bled about whether or not to use stainless lag bolts for the lower transom engine mount or install a jack plate with 4 thru bolts with back side washers and nuts and then mount the engine. Has anyone done this recently with a success story? Trying to figure out the best way to go for longevity for the transom.
