Hello all,
I just purchased a 1982 13 sport. Its my first boat. It came with a stern light that I would like to remove as it gets in the way of the cover I got for it. For the life of me I cant seem to remove it.

I removed the little screw above the large part so that I could twist it and pull it up to loosen it. There is an old plastic bracket under it that goes around the pole which I also removed but the pole remains stuck in there.
Does anyone have any experience with this mechanism?

The little screw should not be there.

You need to loosen the knurled nut completely from the lower stanchion and lift the light pole out.
If it does not want to come out then WD40 or something similar to free it up.
