Summer can't come soon enough, pulling the trigger on a new 150 Montauk. Moving up from my 2011 130 super sport. The 130 has been trouble free for seven years, I'm going to miss her.

I have the 150 Super Sport (2015), so basically, I understand the 130 Super Sport AND the 150 Montauk.

You'll enjoy the much heavier, longer, wider boat. I don't know if the 150 Montauk is "taller" than the 130 Super Sport, however. The curved profile of the new Super Sports puts a lot of fiberglass between the front and sides of the boat and the water. The Montauk's flat profile is a bit closer to the water (in a foot for foot comparison)

I was always of the mindset that I wanted a classic center-console Whaler, but my garage had other ideas. I have loved every minute of my Super Sport, and with the better hull design (than the OLD Montauks) I very rarely hit a big wave that bites me in the ass. That was a great reason for standing, to use the knees as shock absorbers. I still do, a bit, but the new hulls kick butt.

Your new 150 Montauk will be heavier than the classic Montauk, with a deeper V, and a much better ride in choppy water.

The one regret I might have about a Super Sport is fishing can be a little more complicated. With a thwart seat to climb over, and a bimini top always in the way somehow ... the little SS is not super easy to fish. But then again, I launch and retrieve alone, nobody else is on board, and I can move where I want.

It would be cool if they had a T-Top for a little Montauk, to keep the full walkaround/fisharound abilities of the Center Console Whaler.

Best wishes for your new craft, and a good summer of on-water fun to you!
