I appreciate the replies. So that yellow wire, when grounded, would prevent spark.
So as long as its not grounded, it should be able to start and would enable troubleshooting to begin for the no spark..

I know the owner did not have a trim gauge and yes, it has the 8 wire system check gauge.

I am able to get my hands on this book. Has anyone ever used this book? If so, is it decent enough to try to troubleshoot no spark?
