looking at a 1989 BW Outrage 22'... looks like owner or PO replaced the gunnel cap teak with ABS or Starboard. i def want the teak (maybe not once i see the price)... does anyone know where i can pick up a pair? specialty marine only has them for the 18'... anyone know of anyone that makes em or steer me to something better than ABS crap.

if i can get my hands on a set, i can have them duplicated.... just cant find any to copy

HELP. don't want to put down $$ unless it can be redone properly

(EDIT: changed abbreviated year to full 4 digit year per guideline #1 at the top of this page)

It seems you would prefer real wood for your gunwales which is great. However if you are like me and would like less maintenance, you may find a product called "Plasteak" an acceptable alternative. I used it to built gunwale caps for my 1974 Outrage 21. I call it 50 foot teak as from 50 feel away, it looks like teak. Check it out. They offer a number of configurations.

I assume the PO used the original teak caps to make the ABS "crap" caps so you can use those for a patern. Not????
