I am finally getting around to having my cowling repainted. Previous owner must have left in the sun at some point. I understand there is a "mercury black" but how many coats of paint should I pay for? Clear coat? Do I need to wait a couple days or weeks to apply the decals? Who is the best decal supplier?

The engine only has a little over 200 hours and has been fairly reliable so I don't think this endeavor is a complete waste of time...
