The reason why the top of the transom gelcoat has cracked is that the thick piece of plywood making the core of the stern section has gotten wet with water/moisture and has expanded thus cracking the fiberglass and gelcoat.To fill and resurface the fissure area will not cure the problem.To dry the wood out would be the thing.It will sometime take years in a 70F' minimum temperature to dry up these hulls.To stop water intrusion will be the ultimate cure for these problems.
