Boston Whaler's typically like motors to be mounted with the anti-cavitation 1 to 1 1/2 inches above the keel.

Actually E-TEC's like to be mounted HIGH so that means 3 holes. 2 is a good starting point.

Remember - dealers are cautious and 9 out of 10 will mount the engine way too low. This is not me speaking, rather 100's of owners who have re-powered.

If you are spending ~ $100/hr to have them mount the motor, why not have them do it right the first time?
