Hello all, I have a 1982 17ft Montauk. I recently repowered it with a ETEC 90hp. I am wondering about the correct mounting height of the engine and the best prop for this boat. Right now the engine is all the way down on the top mounting hole and the prop is an aluminum Rubex 17-16. I am only getting 33-34MPH at 5000 RPMs. No gear in boat, 18 gallons of fuel , two batteries under console, and just me at 160lbs. In addition, I'm getting a significant list to port when on plane. I'm thinking about adding trim tabs but think I should address the set up first. Does anyone have an idea of the correct set up for this boat. Thank you!
