I know what you are saying and I think there is some science behind that which I'm not qualified to explain. Maybe a naval architect can chime in? I just know that a battery may weight 60-65 lbs depending on group size and gasoline weighs approximately 6 lbs a gallon. In a small boat, that can make a difference how she sits. Play around with it. Try filling up a 5 gallon bucket or two with water on the port side and see what happens. Water is about 8 lbs per gallon.
