Hi Everyone, we just purchased a 2013 Conquest 285 and are prepping for a 10 day fishing trip but are having some downrigger issues. We installed two Cannon downriggers everything looks to be setup fine with the power plugged into the designated outlets on each side of the stern but we can't get them to turn on (I.e no power seems to be going to the outlets). Have tried everything, making sure batteries are on, engines running, checked 30 amp fuses, aux switches on, etc. anyone have any other ideas? Is there another switch somewhere or something else that might obviously be worth trying? Previous owner had down riggers so they worked at some point.

If it's relevant, the boat has three batteries and is powered by twin Merc 225 Verados.

Thanks for any help
Tim

Without a schematic a crap shoot. Downriggers usually installed by dealer/owner. Invest in a dc tester (I bought a Commercial Electric Multimeter brand as a kit from Home Depot with a wire stripper and pliers). You may want to check ground. Accessories need both. For a Multimeter to work you touch one end on a positive wire and the other on negative. Keep tracing the wire......if tracing and you are guessing try a continuity test with the buzzer feature. Good luck.
