I have my 1967 Nauset running a Yamaha 90 hp 2-stroke at ca. 274 lb. I will say however, that my boat performs better when the gas tank is in back next to the battery assuming one person on board. The motor is 2 holes up and using a cupped 3-blade stainless steel Yamaha performance prop with the engine tilted fairly high. I bet the boat would be perfectly balanced if the center console were moved back a few inches, or if there were a slightly (20 lb) heavier motor on the stern. Still, with some wind at the bow and a bit of a chop, my Nauset moves right along as is.

(fixed typo in year)
