Mine are 8' long. The more comfortable the boat is on the trailer going down the road the better. I added all the cross members and keel rollers that I could fit on the trailer. 99% of the boats weight is on the rollers, the bunks keep the boat balanced. Overkill? Maybe, but I haven't heard any complaints from the boat.
