I have owned a 2006 Conquest 305 for about a year now and have developed a problem with the Diesel engine on the generator.
It starts and runs well for about 10 minutes then gradually starts to slow down then speed up until it almost stops. At this point I turn it off. There is very little load on the generator at this time.
I keep my boat in Antigua where any competent help is hard to find so I am appealing for help here. I would be grateful for and advice!

What does the fuel look like in the fuel/water separator? Have you checked the in-line fuel filter mounted in the generator? By any chance has the generator (recently) run out of gas to where air was introduced into the fuel lines?

Fuel looks clean and I changed the inline filter. It has a Racor filter also which is clean and no air leaks detected. I will try to check the return fuel flow to the tank when i am back on board in a couple of weeks just to make sure the fuel pump is working optimaly. I had a look inside the tank also which was clean with no sign of contamination. I have not run out of fuel at all in fact the tank is pretty much full.
It does sound as if the problem is fuel starvation after a good warm up but the supply looks good.

another thing to check is that the fuel system / tank is vented properly..do you use fuel additives ? if not you should..generators dont get used often enough most times..does it have a fuel pump ? might want to ck it out...just some thoughts..good luck
